Global Graphics: Trading update for the quarter and the nine months ended 30 september 2016

Cambridge (UK) Wednesday 12 October 2016 (18.00 CEST) – GLOBAL GRAPHICS SE (Euronext: GLOG), a developer of software platforms for digital printing, digital document and PDF applications, provides a trading update for the third quarter and first nine months of the financial year ending 31 December 2016.

Operational highlights for the quarter ended 30 September 2016

  • A new bilingual Arabic-Latin language typeface developed in response to the fast growing Arabic market was unveiled by Global Graphics’ font foundry URW++.  Boutros-URW Franklin Gothic Arabic is the result of a unique collaboration between London-based Boutros which has specialised in Arabic fonts since 1966, and URW++.
  • Global Graphics’ embedded Harlequin RIP was chosen by Korean manufacturer Sindoh for a new range of multi-function office printers that will be sold in Korea, China, South Africa, the Middle East, with expansion into the European market.
  • At the IMI Ink Jet Technology Showcase, which took place on September 7th and 8th in Chicago, Global Graphics’ CTO Martin Bailey discussed the importance of intelligent software to resolve mechanical quality issues when planning new inkjet presses.
  • Following the success of the introduction at drupa, Fundamentals for label and packaging presses was on show at Label Expo Americas in September.
  • Jeremy Spencer was appointed as VP of print sales, bringing over 20 years’ experience in commercial printing, digital imaging and industrial inkjet from positions held at Caldera, XaarJET and X-Rite.

Financial highlights for the quarter and nine months ended 30 September 2016

The following information is unaudited.

For the quarter ended 30 September 2016

  • Revenue for the quarter was €4.09 million (2015: €2.98 million).
  • The Company’s measure of adjusted operating profit or loss for the quarter was a profit of €1.02 million (2015: €0.10 million profit).

For the nine months ended 30 September 2016

  • Revenue for the period was €12.57 million (2015: €11.37 million).
  • The Company’s measure of adjusted operating profit or loss for the period was a profit of €3.00 million (2015: €3.08 million profit).

Cash
Cash at 30 September 2016 was valued at €3.05 million (2015: €2.52 million).  The Group continues to have no outstanding debt, therefore, no interest payments or capital repayments out of cash flow are required.

On 4 March 2014, the Company announced that it had signed a contract to license its Harlequin technology to a global manufacturer of office printing devices to drive their single function, multi-function and production printers.  During the quarter, €0.04 million (2015: €0.12 million) was recognised as revenue from this contract, making a total of €0.23 million that has been recognised as revenue during the nine months ended 30 September 2016 (2015: €3.59 million).
